Drive across the Waipapa Dam and park in the area adjacent to the gate. Walk past the gate and up the sealed road until you reach a gravel area and path to the left. Travel down the path towards the river and follow the metal pipe downstream until you reach a stream entering the river from the right. Follow the track beside the stream before climbing up the hill to the climbing area.

Seldom will you find an area that provides such an excellent array of climbs and extensive opportunities for further development.

Wiapapa is an excellent place and well worth a visit, offering both sport routes and naturally protected lines.
